Getting started

Signing in to your account

Inner Explorer supports a few ways to sign in, depending on how your school set up access. This page covers all of them, then walks through your first sign-in.

Ways to sign in

If you are an existing user of Inner Explorer, welcome back! You can use your existing email and password to log in below. We recommend using the email and password method to get started this year.

Many schools use a single sign-on provider so you can get in with the account you already use every day. If your single sign-on is not working, or if Inner Explorer does not appear in your available apps, your administrator may not have connected it yet.

Email & password

Go to app.innerexplorer.com. Use the email your school registered and your password to sign in. Select Forgot your password to reset it if necessary.

Google

Go to app.innerexplorer.com. Sign in with your school Google Workspace account in one click, with no separate password.

ClassLink

There are two ways to sign in with ClassLink:

  1. Go to app.innerexplorer.com and choose Continue with ClassLink. Sign in to ClassLink and follow the steps to set up your profile.
  2. If available, log in to ClassLink with your school’s single sign-on. Launch Inner Explorer from your ClassLink LaunchPad and you’re signed in automatically. Follow the steps to set up your profile.

Clever

There are two ways to sign in with Clever:

  1. Go to app.innerexplorer.com and choose Continue with Clever. Sign in to Clever and follow the steps to set up your profile.
  2. If available, log in to your Clever Portal with your school’s single sign-on. Add the app to your app tiles, select the Inner Explorer tile, and follow the steps to set up your profile.

Canvas

Open Inner Explorer from your Courses in Canvas and you are signed in automatically. If you do not see it there, your district may have placed it elsewhere or not installed it yet.

New users: signing in for the first time

If you received an email invitation to join your school, follow these steps to set up your account.

  1. Open your invitation email

    • District administrators: look for an email from Inner Explorer and select Accept invitation.
    • School administrators: look for an email from Inner Explorer and select the link to accept the invitation.
    • Educators: look for a message from Inner Explorer or your administrator and select the link to accept the invitation.

Check your spam folder if you don’t see it.

  2. Create your account

Use your school registered email address and choose a password of at least eight characters. If your school uses Google, ClassLink, or Clever and you prefer to sign in that way, select your preferred method.
  3. Confirm your name and role

Check that your name and your role (educator, administrator, or family) are correct, then continue.
  4. Set up your first classroom

If you signed up as an educator, you’ll be asked to create a classroom before you reach your home screen. Name it, tell us roughly how many students you have, then choose your language and the grade level that fits your class. Set up your classroom walks you through it in more detail. If you signed up as an administrator, see Set up your district or school account for further instruction.
  5. Press play

You’ll land on your home screen with your classroom’s first practice ready to go.
An educator’s first sign-in, start to finish: accepting the emailed invitation, setting a password, finding their school, naming a classroom, and landing on Day 1.

Setting up single sign-on

Administrators set this up once for the whole school. Single sign-on lets your staff reach Inner Explorer with the accounts they already use for the rest of your school tools, so there is no extra password for anyone to remember, and access is added or removed automatically as your roster changes.

If Inner Explorer does not appear in your Clever, ClassLink, or Canvas account, it has not been connected yet. Administrators can turn it on in Connect rostering and single sign-on. Educators and families should ask their school administrator to enable it.
