Getting started

Welcome to Inner Explorer

Inner Explorer brings 5-10 minutes of guided mindfulness into the school day. This page covers what the program is, how a daily practice works, and where to start.

What Inner Explorer is

Inner Explorer is a daily, audio guided mindfulness program built for PreK through 12 school communities. A recorded guide leads every practice, so the adult in the room can practice alongside students.

Quick facts

  • 5 to 10 minutes a day
  • 180 practices, one for every day of the school year
  • Audio guided, so students listen rather than watch
  • Each program opens with a short intro video
  • Available in English and Spanish
  • No lesson planning, prep, or training required
  • Four programs: Early Learning, Elementary, Middle School, and High School

Why schools practice every day

Stress shows up in the body before it shows up in behavior. When a student’s nervous system is on high alert, focus, memory, and self control are harder to reach, no matter how strong the lesson is.

A daily practice gives the nervous system a chance to regulate and settle. Over time, students get better at noticing what they feel and choosing what to do next. The adults in the room build the same skill, because everyone practices together.

That is why the practice is short and why it happens every day. Consistency is what makes the skill stick.

How a daily practice works

Every session follows the same rhythm, which is what makes it easy to build into the day. Practices are sequenced across the school year, so the platform always has the next one ready.

01

Press play

Click today’s practice in the Daily Practice Series. The guide leads everyone through five to ten minutes, and tomorrow’s practice is queued up for you.
02

Reflect

Every practice ends with a prompted reflection. Submit one for the class and it saves to your account for the year. Some classes prefer paper.
03

Feedback

Optional. Choose from the list of feelings to say how the practice landed, and add a comment if you like.

Most students close their eyes. Anyone who would rather not can follow a still image on screen or bow their heads.

Who it’s for
